LSQ IN DA HOUSE
Why this blog thing
I’ve always liked writing and knew I excel at writing. The boyfriend bought me this domain ‘laosaiqueen.com’ 2 years ago to encourage me to start writing. But write what? Write about what? How to start?
Over the course of the last 2 years, I toyed with various angles and themes but nothing came to fruition.
Each time I thought of something like “hey maybe I can write about xxxxxx?”, I got lazy and the ideassss would just die off.
Last weekend, I decided enough was enough and it’s time to just write the way I’d tell my friends about some crazy good loot I scored, or a cool drinking spot I stumbled upon, or another new local brand I discovered at some local shopping event I went, or the shenanigans at a festival I attended over the weekend, etc.
Who the F am I
I’m a 100% loco/local Singaporean who went to school in Singapore, worked in Singapore from Day 1, and lived all my life in Singapore. I scored A* for English at PSLE, A1 for English at O’levels, and then A1 for General Paper at A’levels. So at the very least, your English and brain won’t degenerate further by hanging around my page. Also, am not a billionaire’s daughter/socialite or work in media or married to a rich kid, ie, just an ordinary commoner.
Why you may like my shit
We may not be in the ‘it’ crowd (see above) but we all like the same shit – be it buying nice things (preferably at good discounts), watching interesting things, eating delicious food, exploring cool places, etc.
Bonus ting~I eat, shop, watch, and consume a lot of local shit – on some days, I’m decked head to toe in nothing but locally-made products, which is dope shit by the way.
2nd bonus ting~~My telegenic cat Char Siew Mao will make appearances in my posts, probably on slow news days.
I hope to be that completely ordinary friend who seems to be able to do/eat/see ‘cool’ things. I want to show you that there’s more to the life you know, especially in Singapore, that there’s so much to see and do right here in our tiny red dot.
I am laosaiqueen, the girl who never seems to run out of things to share with you.
So, warm welcome, just be careful don’t step on my lao sai k.
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE AND HAPPY NATIONAL DAY my fellow lao sai friends xoxoxo
